Ahead of the US Fed Today....Look At The Global Trends (Short Note)
The heat map of World Central Bank liquidity injections below reported in an earlier report is reproduced again to meet requests for a better quality image (hopefully this works). The data come from our proprietary Global Liquidity Indexes (GLITM).
The point is that whatever the FOMC decides today, 25bp or 50bp, the fact is the monetary ‘supertaker’ is turning. This is seen in general thru the change in hues from red (tight) towards ease (green). To reiterate our investment view: (1) the US/ World economy is slow, not recessionary; (2) the US Fed and other Central Banks want to ease policy, and (3) China is suffering deflation which will help cap global inflationary trends…what is not to like?
