After the November 5th US Elections, everything we see convinces us that the US dollar goes much higher, that is, unless the Federal Reserve reins it back through an unlikely much easier money policy. The chart below highlights the strong uptrend in our preferred metric, the ‘real’ (inflation-adjusted) trade-weighted US dollar. A strong dollar is deflationary for other economies and will inflict pain elsewhere.
